My name is Damaris. Odds are, you don’t know how to say that. Let me help you (think Spanish):
“Da” (open your mouth wide here) – “ma” (wide again) – “reese“
That wasn’t so hard, was it? On to more important things. You’re probably wondering who I am, why I’ve started a food blog, and why on earth it matters.
Well, I can tell you this blog started as a dream to one day pass all of my best recipes and the best recipes from all of our family on to my children. I wanted our future kids to also have the story behind the food – to have their family history. Being an immigrant and the child of immigrants, I felt the need to consolidate our family’s story. I was always far away from my relatives, and could only vicariously experience life as they had lived it.
For years, I have compiled recipes, experimented with different ethnic cuisines, and studied all sorts of techniques and proportions used in the creation of recipes. I love to cook. It is one of my passions. I also love coding, graphic design, and writing. Naturally, all of these desires met in a perfect collision of interests and so was born this blog.
To this day, my dream remains the same. This blog is primarily for my family and my future children. But I really hope that you enjoy these recipes, and that you tailor them to make them exactly right for you and your family. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of giving or receiving something made from scratch, so get started!
